The Power of a Selfie

Pulse Management Model Liz Kennedy taking a selfie with fellow models during NYFW

Forbes Magazine ran an article a few months ago that really resonated with us at Pulse Management.  It is about how models these days are experiencing popularity like the supermodels of the 90's and a lot of that is due to their presence on social media.  By posting pictures of their lives, both during their modeling work and in the rest of their lives, these models are gaining fans and increasing their success.  To read the Forbes article click HERE.

We have been saying to our models for years that they are their own brand.  We are here to manage and advise them, but they have to put in a lot of the work.  By having themselves on social media like instagram, Facebook, tumblr, etc. they are essentially taking control of their brand and putting themselves out there. Our instagram account can be found HERE, and we regularly post pictures of our models, and link to their instagram accounts as well.  So if you are into that kind of thing, make sure you check it out.

Throwback Thursday: Then and Now

For today's Throwback Thursday, we are featuring one of our favorite models, Rachel Cook.  Above are some of Rachel's first polaroids with us, taken five years ago.  We found Rachel in her home state of Washington and she has worked around the world since then.  Some of her career highlights up to this point include being on the cover of WWD, working in New York, Miami, Los Angeles, and a few different places in Asia.  She has worked with some top photographers, and made a niche for herself in beauty campaigns for companies like Lorac.  It's been a busy few years for this model, and we are so proud of her.  We can't wait to see what else she has in store, because her work just keeps getting better!

Update on Gia

Gia Whited, one of our relatively newer models just sent us over here latest polaroids.  Gia is signed with Photogenics in LA and they had these shots taken of her.  We love the simplicity of these pictures.  The simple pictures are the hardest ones to take well because you can't hide behind wardrobe, hair and makeup, and props.  We love these pictures because they just show our beautiful Gia, and we don't think we will be the only people that are impressed with these photos.

For Your Consideration

Meagan Lee

As we mentioned in our post yesterday, the annual Victoria's Secret fashion show airs tonight on CBS. We have had two of our models work with Victoria's Secret in the past as we detailed in this post.  We aren't satisfied with just having two models work with them, we want more! Just off the top of our heads here are a few of our models that we think could walk the runway alongside the best of the Angels.  So, just in case the VS casting director is reading this, we present the following models for your consideration for next year.

MAJOR MOMENT MONDAY: Hannah Holman for Victoria's Secret

In honor of the annual Victoria's Secret Fashion Show that airs tomorrow night, we thought we'd throw it back to 2010 when our girl Hannah Holman was featured in a VS campaign.  Working for Victoria's Secret is one of the biggest bookings a model can get. For Hannah it was important because it showed that she was not only a success in high fashion (Chanel, Miu Miu, Alexander Wang, etc.), but she was could be featured along with the other Victoria's Secret models who are seen generally as more sexy than a lot of the high fashion girls.  Versatility is one of the best traits a model can have, and this was huge for Hannah.

Check back tomorrow for some of our models who we think have the ability to work with Victoria's Secret in the future.
